Family Room, Mountain View with Balcony
- 600 sq ft
- Sleeps 4
- Upper floor
- 1 double bed + 1 sofa bed
The one people write reviews about. Top floor, with a balcony that wraps around two sides. Sunrise on one side, sunset on the other.
A family home turned homestay, minutes above Mall Road. Five room types, every room with its own balcony or terrace, all of them looking out at the same thing: the Himalaya, changing colour all day.
Folded in
The Goel family opened Nature’s Fold in 2023, bringing sixteen years of hospitality experience with them. The idea was simple: the service standards of a good hotel, in a house where the family is actually around.
That is what guests keep writing about. Someone warmed milk for a baby at an odd hour. Someone sat down and planned a whole day of local trips over tea. The rooms are clean and new and the linen is good, but the reason people come back is that the family is on the property, and they answer the phone.

Rooms & suites
Sizes run from a compact 220 sq ft double to a 650 sq ft family suite. Every room has an attached bathroom and its own outdoor space with furniture. Use the arrows on any photograph to look around the room.
The one people write reviews about. Top floor, with a balcony that wraps around two sides. Sunrise on one side, sunset on the other.
The largest space on the property, and the only one with a separate sitting room. Cedar-lined ceilings, its own private terrace with cane furniture below.
The largest of the doubles, with a king bed and its own terrace seating. Good for a couple who want room to spread out, or a small family with an extra mattress.
A double with a proper window seat, glass doors straight onto the balcony, and the mountains in front of you. No stairs to climb once you are on the property.
The most economical room, and it still has the balcony and the attached bathroom. Quiet, on the ground floor, looking into the trees.

An extra mattress can be added in every room. Occupancy figures include children.
The rooftop
Open lawn on the roof, chairs and a swing, and nothing between you and the valley but a railing.
It catches the sun most of the day and the light off the ridges in the evening. There is a bonfire on request if you book it ahead, board games if the cloud comes in, a small play set for children, and enough space that a family and a couple can both be up there without being in each other’s way.
Dining
Meals come through a restaurant we work with on Mall Road, ordered from our own menu and brought up to you. Breakfast through to dinner, vegetarian and non-vegetarian, South Indian, Chinese, tandoor and North Indian.
In your room, on your own balcony, or up on the terrace. Room service runs limited hours.
Rooms are booked room-only, so breakfast is ordered separately rather than included. Chole bhature, parathas, dosas, omelettes and more are all on the menu.
Outside food is allowed, and the usual delivery apps reach the property. Nobody will mind if you order in or bring something back from Mall Road.
Finding us
Tell any driver Gandhi Chowk, also called Library Chowk or Library Bazaar. That is the end of Mall Road everyone knows. We are a few minutes from there, set back off the road.

For solo and women travellers
Guests travelling alone and groups of women friends make up a real share of who stays here, and they tell us the same two things: it felt safe, and it was easy to reach.
The property is a three minute walk from Library Chowk, which is where the buses and shared taxis from Dehradun stop, so you are not taking a long ride into an unlit lane at the end of a journey. The family lives on site and someone is awake and reachable. There is CCTV on the common areas, a caretaker through the day, and the whole building is on power backup so the lights stay on when Mussoorie’s do not.
Male-only groups are not accepted, which is a deliberate policy rather than an oversight.
“The room was clean and spacious with attached balcony. You can see the Mussoorie sunset from there. Mall road is walking distance, hardly 3 min from the room. I was there on a girls’ trip and I felt safe.”
Shraddha D., May 2024
“It’s very near to the Mall road and hence more comfortable staying there as a solo traveller. The host couple is very warm and affectionate and also very prompt in responding.”
Sarika B., solo traveller, May 2024
Around Mussoorie
Camel’s Back Road effectively starts at Library Bazaar, which means the best walk in Mussoorie begins at the bottom of our lane.
Distances are approximate and measured from Library Chowk. Our staff can help you plan a day, arrange a cab, or organise a scooty on rent.

Plan your stay
There is no booking form to fill in. Send a WhatsApp with your dates and how many of you there are, and someone in the family will answer.
There is no parking on the property. None at all. There is paid parking close by, and we will tell you exactly where and help you with bags, but if you are driving up you should plan for it.
There is an uphill walk of roughly 200 metres from the road to the door, and no lift inside the building. It is the reason the views are what they are, but it is a real climb, and the property is not suitable for guests using a wheelchair. We would rather you knew this before you booked than after you arrived.
You can also book us on MakeMyTrip and Goibibo. Booking direct over WhatsApp is usually the quickest way to get an answer about a specific room.
